ADDITION OF DOUBLE DIGIT NUMBER WITH REGROUPING

METHOD OF SOLUTION

Step 1.- Add the ‘Ones’.

8 Ones + 9 Ones = 17 Ones

17 Ones = 1 Tens 7 Ones

Write 7 in the ‘Ones’ column and take 1 Ten at the top of the ‘Tens’ column.                      

Step 2. -  Add the ‘Tens’

                    1 Tens + 6 Tens + 2 Tens = 9 Tens

             Write 9 Tens to the 'Tens' Column.

              So, the answer is 97  (. 

2) Add 47 + 36 = ?

METHOD OF SOLUTION

Step 1.- Add the ‘Ones’.

7 Ones + 6 Ones = 13 Ones

13 Ones = 1 Tens  3 Ones

Write 3 in the ‘Ones’ column and

take 1 Ten at the top of the ‘ Tens ’ column.

Step 2. -  Add the‘Tens’                                       

            1 Tens + 4 Tens + 3 Tens =  8 Tens.

            Write 8 Tens to the ‘ Tens’ Column.

            So, the answer is 83.

3) Add  35 + 27 = ?

METHOD OF SOLUTION

Step 1.- Add the ‘Ones’.

5 Ones + 7 Ones   = 12 Ones

12 Ones = 1 Tens  2 Ones

Write 2 in the ‘ Ones’ column and 

take 1 Ten at the top of the ‘Tens’ column.

                      Step 2. -  Add the ‘Tens’                               

                       1 Tens + 3 Tens + 2 Tens =  6 Tens.

                       Write 6 Tens to the ‘ Tens’ Column.

                       So, the answer is 62.  (Ans
