# CLASS-8UNITARY METHOD

UNITARY METHOD

The unitary method is a very popular and useful methodology for solving any kind of math and this methodology is very enjoyable too. The unitary method is a way of finding the value of the required number of things by first finding the value of one thing ( or a unit ) from the value of a given number of things.

There are some example are given below for your better understanding –

Example.1) If the cost of 5 footballs is \$ 1200 then what is the cost of 12 footballs?

Ans.) As per the given condition, the cost of 5 footballs is \$ 1200                                                                                                                                    \$ 1200

Then the cost of 1 football is = ------------                                                                                                                                                          5

\$ 1200

Then the cost of 1 football is = ------------

5

\$ 1200

Now, the cost of 12 footballs is = ------------ X  12                                                                                                                                                     5

=  \$ 240 X 12

=  \$ 2880

So, the cost of 12 football is \$ 2880   (Ans.)

Example.2)  If the cost of 10 ladies shirts is about \$ 850 then what is the cost of 25 ladies shirts?

Ans.) As per the given condition, the cost of 10 ladies shirts is \$ 850.

\$ 850

Then the cost of 1 ladies shirt is =  -----------

10

\$ 850

Now, the cost of 25 ladies shirts is = ----------- X 25

10

=  \$ 85 X 25

= \$ 2125

So, the cost of 25 ladies shirts is \$ 2125  (Ans.)
