Multiplying Ratio
The fraction by which a quantity (the original quantity) has to be multiplied to make it equal to another quantity (the final quantity) is called a multiplying ratio,
Final quantity
Multiplying ratio = ------------------------
Original quantity.
Example.1) The multiplying ratio which changes 45m into 27m, so find the multiplying ratio.
Ans.) As per the given condition, the multiplying ratio
Final quantity
= ------------------------
Original quantity
27 m 3
= ------------ = ---------- = 3 : 5 (Ans.)
45 m 5
Example.2) The multiplying ratio which changes 150 cm into 100 cm, so find the multiplying ratio.
Ans.) As per the given condition, the multiplying ratio
Final quantity
= ---------------------
Original quantity
100 cm 2
= ------------ = --------- = 2 : 3 (Ans.)
150 cm 3
