PRIME FACTORIZATION

Rules of Prime Factorization

If the number is even then take out the factor 2

If the sum of digit in the number obtained after step 1 is a multiple of 3, so we will take the factor 3. We have to continue this step as long as the number is a multiple of three.

If the last digit in the number obtained after step 2 is 5, take out the factor 5.

Try by division to take out prime factors like 7, 11, 13 and 17

Example –

1)   360  =  2 X 180

           =  2 X 2 X 90

           =  2 X 2 X 2 X 45

           =  2 X 2 X 2 X 3 X 15

           =  2 X 2 X 2 X 3 X 3 X 5

           =  2 X 3² X 5¹
