Compound Ratio

We will call a ratio as a ompound ratio when two or more given ratios when it’s antecedent is the product of the ANTECEDENTS of the given ratios, and it’s CONSEQUENT is the product of the consequences of the given ratios. So the compound ratio of the ratios x : y and a : b is the ratio ax : by

Example–

1) The compound ratio of the ratios 5:7 and 4:8 is -

    (5 X 4) : (7 X 8) = 20 : 56

2) The compound ratio of the ratios 8:7 and 3:5 is -

    (8 X 3) : (7 X 5) = 24 : 35
