REDUCTION OF FRACTION IN SIMPLEST FORM BY H.C.F METHOD

Q.1) Find out simplest form of 16/56 by H.C.F

Step.1) In this Process first we have to find out the H.C.F of ‘Denominator’ 56 and ‘Numerator’ 16 of the given fraction.

Step.2) Divide the ‘Numerator’ and the ‘Denominator’ by H.C.F to get the given fraction in simplest form.

Step.3)  So, we divide ‘Numerator’ and ‘Denominator’ of the given fraction by 8.     So, H.C.F of 16 and 56 is 8

                   16              16 ÷ 8               2

Now,  ----------  = ------------  =  --------  = 2 / 7

            56              56 ÷ 8               7

So, the simplest form of the given fraction is  2/7.      (Ans.)

Q.2) Find out the simplest form of 25/180 by H.C.F

Step.1) In this Process first we have to find out the H.C.F of ‘Denominator’ 180 and ‘Numerator’ 25 of given fraction

Step.2) Divide the ‘Numerator’ and the ‘Denominator’ by H.C.F to get the given fraction in simplest form.

Step.3) So, we divide ‘Numerator’ and ‘Denominator’ of the given fraction by 5.

So, H.C.F of 25 and 180 is 5

            25               25 ÷ 5               5

Now,  ---------  =  -------------  =  -------- =  5 / 36

           180              180 ÷ 5              36

So, the simplest form of the given fraction is  5/36 .        (Ans.)
