PERIMETER OF EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE -

The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is the sum of the lengths of its three equal sides. In an equilateral triangle, all three sides are of equal length, so you can calculate the perimeter using the formula:

  • P is the perimeter of the equilateral triangle.
  • s is the length of one side of the equilateral triangle.

        Perimeter (P) = 3 × Side Length (s)

In this formula, "s" represents the length of one of the sides of the equilateral triangle.

So, if you know the side length (s) of the equilateral triangle, you can find its perimeter by simply multiplying the side length by 3.

Let's calculate the perimeter of an equilateral triangle as an example:-

Suppose you have an equilateral triangle with each side measuring 5 centimeters. To find the perimeter, you can use the formula for the perimeter of an equilateral triangle, which is 3s (where s is the length of one side).

        if triangle ABC is equilateral triangle then, AB = BC = CA = s

  Perimeter of △ABC = AB + BC + CA

                       = AB + AB + AB  

                       = 3s

Perimeter (P) of the equilateral triangle = 3s

In this case, s = 5 cm (the length of one side).

Perimeter (P) = 3 × 5 cm = 15 cm

So, the perimeter of the equilateral triangle is 15 centimeters. This means that the total length of its three equal sides is 15 centimeters.
