ADDITION OF INTEGERS ON NUMBER LINE

ADDITION OF INTEGERS ON NUMBER LINE -

The number line is a graphical representation where integers are placed at specific points, and you can visually see how addition works by moving along the number line.

Let's consider a few examples:-

1. Adding Positive Integers:- Suppose you want to add 4 + 3. Start at 0 and move 4 units to the right to reach 4. Then, move 3 more units to the right to reach the final point at 7.

      0  1  2  3  4  5  6  7
      ↑---------------->↑

2. Adding Negative Integers:- Let's add -2 + (-5).

Start at 0 and move 2 units to the left (negative direction) to reach -2. Then, move 5 more units to the left to reach the final point at -7.

      -7 -6 -5 -4 -3 -2 -1  0
       ↑<-----------------↑

3. Adding Positive and Negative Integers:- Consider 3 + (-2).

Start at 0 and move 3 units to the right to reach 3. Then, move 2 units to the left (negative direction) to reach the final point at 1.

                -2 -1  0  1  2  3  4  5
            ↑----↑↑------↑

                      ↑<----↑

4. Combining Different Cases:- Let's add -4 + 6.

Start at 0 and move 4 units to the left to reach -4. Then, move 6 units to the right to reach the final point at 2.

           -4 -3 -2 -1  0  1  2  3
            ↑----------↑↑----↑

            ↑-------------->↑
