HOW TO CHECK GIVEN FRACTION ARE EQUIVALENT OR NOT ?
Suppose there are two fraction x / y and u / v
Now, we will cross multiply of that said two fraction

If two cross products are equal, xv = yu then we can say x / y and u / v are equivalent fraction of each other. And if xy = uv is not equal, then given fractions are not equivalent.
Q1) Are the fractions 5/15 and 3/9 are equivalent ?

15 9
5 3
= ---------- x ---------
15 9
So, 5 x 9 = 45 and 15 x 3 = 45
Here we can see that, both cross products are equal, so we can say both the fractions are equivalent. (Ans.)
