TRIANGLE - SCALANE TRIANGLE

SCALANE TRIANGLE -

A scalene triangle is a type of triangle in which all three sides have different lengths, and consequently, all three angles have different measures. In other words, none of the sides or angles in a scalene triangle are equal.

Key features of a scalene triangle:-

  1. Side Lengths:- All three sides have different lengths. Mathematically, if a, b, and c are the side lengths of the triangle, then a ≠ b ≠ c.
  2. Angle Measures:- All three interior angles have different measures. Mathematically, if A, B, and C are the angles opposite sides a, b, and c respectively, then A ≠ B ≠ C.
  3. Sum of Angles:- The sum of the interior angles in any triangle is always 180 degrees.

Here's an illustration of a scalene triangle:

Geometry

In the above triangle ABC:-

  • Side lengths a, b, and c are all different.
  • Angles A, B, and C have different measures.

Scalene triangles are quite common, and they contrast with equilateral triangles (all sides and angles are equal) and isosceles triangles (two sides and angles are equal). The classification of triangles into these types is based on the relationships between their side lengths and angle measures.
