Converting a percentage into a decimal involves dividing the percentage value by 100. Here's how you can do it:

Step 1:- Take the Percentage Value Let's say you have a percentage, such as 25%.

Step 2:- Divide by 100 To convert the percentage to a decimal, divide the percentage value by 100:

               Percentage

Decimal = --------------

                  100​


Example.1) For example, to convert 25% to a decimal:-

               25

Decimal = -------- = 0.25

              100

So, 25% is equivalent to 0.25 as a decimal.


Here's another example:-

Example.2) Problem: Convert 60% to a decimal.

Ans.)

Step 1:- Take the Percentage Value The given percentage is 60%.

                                         60

Step 2:- Divide by 100 Decimal = ------- = 0.6

                                        100 

So, 60% is equivalent to 0.6 as a decimal.   (Ans.)

In general, to convert a percentage p% to a decimal:-

This represents the percentage value as a fraction of 100, expressed as a decimal.
