EXPRESSING PERCENTAGE AS DECIMAL FRACTION -

To express a percentage as a decimal fraction, you can follow these steps:

  1. Remove the percentage symbol (%) from the given percentage.
  2. Divide the resulting value by 100.

Here's an example.1 :-

Let's say you have a percentage of 85%.

  1. Remove the percentage symbol: 85
  2. Divide by 100 : 85 / 100 = 0.85

So, 85% is equivalent to the decimal fraction 0.85.

Here's an example.2:-

Let's say you have a percentage of 47%.

  1. Remove the percentage symbol: 47
  2. Divide by 100 : 47 / 100 = 0.47

So, 75% is equivalent to the decimal fraction 0.47.

To convert the percentage into a decimal fraction, we remove the % symbol and divide it by 100. We know that dividing by 100 means shifting the decimal point by two places to the left.

Express each of the following as a decimal fraction:

a) 24 % = -------

              100

          = 24.00 ÷ 100 = 0.2400 = 0.24

                        105

b) 105 % = --------

                100

           = 1 0 5 . 0 0 ÷ 100 = 1.0500 = 1.05

c) 10.02 % = ---------

                   100
