EXPRESSING DECIMAL FRACTION IN PERCENTAGE -

To convert a decimal fraction into a percentage, you can follow these steps:

  1. Multiply the decimal fraction by 100 to express it as a whole number.
  2. Add the percentage symbol (%) to the resulting number.

Let's take an example to illustrate the process. Suppose you have a decimal fraction of 0.75, and you want to convert it into a percentage.

Step 1: Multiply the decimal fraction by 100 :- 0.75 * 100 = 75

Step 2: Add the percentage symbol: 75%

Therefore, 0.75 as a decimal fraction is equivalent to 75% as a percentage.

Here's an example to illustrate the process:

Let's say we want to convert the decimal fraction 0.60 into a percentage.

  1. Multiply 0.60 by 100 : 0.60 * 100 = 60
  2. Add the percentage symbol: 60%

So, the decimal fraction 0.60 is equivalent to 60%.

To convert a decimal fraction into a percentage we multiply it by 100. We know that multiplying a decimal fraction by 100 means shifting the decimal point by two places to the right of the decimal fraction, and writing the % symbol.

Express each of the following decimal fraction into percentage :-

a) 2.76

     2.76 × 100 = 276 %

b) 6.025

     6.025 × 100 = 602.5 %
