Expands form of Decimal number
Decimal number can be expanded always
in three different ways - 1) Place Value format
2) Fractional format
3) Decimal format
Now, we will try to understand above three different format for the same decimal number.
Example.1 ) 437.158
Ans.) Place Value 437.158 = 4 Hundreds + 3 Tens + 7 Ones + 1 Tenths + 5 Hundredths + 8 Thousandths
Decimal Value 437.158 = 400 + 30 + 7 + 0.100 + 0.050 + 0.008
Fractional Value 437.158 = 400 + 30 + 7 + 1/10 + 5/100 + 8/1000
Example.2 ) 8324.07
Ans.) Place Value 8324.07 = 8 Thousands + 3 Hundreds + 2 Tens + 4 Ones + 0 Tenths + 7 Hundredths
Decimal Value 8324.07 = 8000 + 300 + 20 + 4 + 0.0 + 0.07
Fractional Value 8324.07 = 8000 + 300 + 20 + 4 + 0/10 + 7/100
