The ward ‘Average’ is a small ward but importance is huge to describe. It gives us a specific concept or single data to understand from various data of various condition. ‘Average’ is a number which describes or gives us the central or middle value from provided various given value.

Step.1) First convert all given measure metric units to a single small or biggest units as provided.

Step.2) Then add all the given data

Step.3) Divide by the total number of quantities to get the average.

                    Sum of all the given quantities or data

Average =   ----------------------------------------

                    Total number of quantities (addends)

For, Example1) – in a week there are 7 days, and temperature of Monday- 22˚c , Tuesday - 18˚c, Wednesday - 24˚c, Thursday - 20˚c, Friday - 23˚c, Saturday - 19˚c, Sunday - 25˚c.

If we wish to find out the average temperature of particular above given week, then –

             (22+18+25+21+24+19+25)˚c       154 ˚c

Average =------------------------- =  ---------  = 22˚c / day

                         7days                    7 days

So, 22˚c is the average temperature of this particular week.

Example2.)  Suppose Mr.Arther spent his money in the subsequent 5 days are given below –

125 , 350 , 175 , 225 , 250. If we would like to find out his average expense of 5 days then

             125 + 350 + 175 + 225 + 250         1125

Average  =---------------------------  = ----------  =  225

                           5                             5

So, Mr. Arther’s average expense of those five days is rupees 225
