LEARN MATH STEP BY STEP THROUGH VERY EASY PROCESS

FACTORS - PRIME & COMPOSITE NUMBERS

__PRIME NUMBERS & COMPOSITE NUMBERS -__

**Prime & Composite numbers both are very nondetachable part of mathematics, without these mathematics learning must be incomplete. Now we will clear the concept of Prime & Composite numbers.**

__PRIME
NUMBERS :-__

**
A number which has only two factors, namely one and the number itself is called a prime number.
Composite numbers are the numbers having more than two factors, i.e., other than 1 and the
number itself.
**

__Example.1)__ 2 is a prime number as it has only two factors 1 and 2.

**2 ÷ 1 = 2.**

**Factors of 2 are 1 and 2.**

__COMPOSITE NUMBERS :-__

__Example.1)__ 4 is a composite number as it has more than two factors.

**4 ÷ 1 = 4**

**4 ÷ 2 = 2**

**Factors of 4 are 1, 2 and 4.**

**Other than 1 and 4, it has a third factor 2 So,
4 is
a composite number.**

**NOTE :-**

**· One
is not a prime number,
since it has only one factor.**

**· Two
is the only even prime number.**

**· 4 is the first composite number.**

**There are some examples are given below which was furnished like a table -**
