FINDING FACTORS THROUGH DIVISION METHOD

FINDING FACTORS THROUGH DIVISION METHOD:-

DIVISION METHOD :-

Here we find the factors by finding the numbers with which they are exactly divisible by using rules of divisibility.

Example.1) Find all the factors of 30.

Factors

[The divisors and quotients are underlined, these are the factors.]

  ∴ The factors of 30 are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30.

[Arrange the factors in ascending order - small to big]

Example.2) Find the factors of 12.

Factors

[The divisors and quotients are   underlined, these are the factors.]

The factors of 12 are 1,2,3,4,6,12.

So, 1 is the smallest factor of every number. The number itself is the greatest factor.
