DIVISION METHOD

DIVISION -

DIVISION means equal sharing or equal distribution.

In a division sum,

1. The number to be divided is called the Dividend.

2. The number by which the dividend is divided is called the Divisor.

3. The answer we get is called the Quotient.

4. If there is any left over number, it is called the Remainder.

Example. 1)   Divide 835 by 9.

Ans: Quotient is 92

and, Remainder is 7         (Ans.)
