COMPARISON OF NUMBERS IN ASCENDING & DESCENDING ORDER -

RULE:-

1.   First we have to Compare the number of digits in the given numbers. The number having more digits is greater.

2.   If the number of digits are same, then start from the left and compare the digits till a different pair is reached or found.


ASCENDING ORDER means arranging numbers from the smallest to the largest number.

DESCENDING ORDER means arranging numbers in order from the largest to the smallest.


Example 1: Arrange the following in ascending order (small to big) (Sign must)

            5,18,716;    3,38,500;     5,10,725;      3,34,534

Ascending order : 3,34,534 < 3,38,500 <  5,10,725 <  5,18,716. (Ans.)



Example 2: Arrange the following in descending order (big to small) (Sign must)

        3,02,504;  4,78,025;   22,76,182;   3,49,847;   32,57,600

Descending order : 32,57,600 > 22,76,182 > 4,78,025 > 3,49,847 > 3,02,504. (Ans.)
