PROPERTIES OF MULTIPLICATION -
1. The product of a number by 1 is the number itself.
Example: 2,38,752 x 1 = 2,38,752
2. The product of a number by zero is always zero.
Example: 40,598 x 0 = 0
3. Commutativepropertyofmultiplication:
The product of two numbers does not change when we change the order of numbers.
Example: 15 x 20 = 300 and 20 x 15 = 300
∴ 15 x 20 = 20 x15
4. Associative property of multiplication :
The product of three numbers does not change when we change their grouping.
Example: (15 x 20 ) x 40 = 300 x 40=12,000
15 x (20 x 40) =15 x 800 = 12,000
(15 x 40) x 20 = 600 x 20 =12,000
