MULTIPLICATION AS A REPEATED ADDITION

Previously we are experienced in addition, now we will try to understand how multiplication happens through the concept of addition. It’s very logical and scientific process to understand the concept of multiplication. We will try to understand through picture image which has given below for your better understanding -

a)

In above picture there are sets of 5 flowers and repeatedly added 4 times, so 5 flowers X 4 times added = 20 flowers.  (Ans.)

b)

In above picture there are sets of 6 balls and repeatedly added 6 times, so 6 balls X 6 times added = 36 balls.   (Ans.)

c)

In above picture there are sets of 5 guavas and repeatedly added 6 times, so 5 guavas X 6 times added = 30 guavas.    (Ans.)

d)

In above picture there are sets of 4 apples and repeatedly added 8 times, so 4 apples X 8 times added = 32 apples.    (Ans.)

e)

In above picture there are sets of 10 bottles of jam and repeatedly added 3 times, so 10 bottles of jam X 3 times added = 30 bottles of jam.   (Ans.)
