ADD & WRITE THE NUMBER IN THE BOX - WORD PROBLEM

Add & Write the Numbers in the Boxes -

Addition is a fundamental arithmetic operation that involves combining two or more numbers to find their total or sum. It is denoted by the "+" symbol. When you add numbers, you are essentially increasing the value of one number by the value of another.

Here's a general definition of addition:

In mathematics, addition is a binary operation that takes two numbers, called addends, and produces their sum. The addends can be positive or negative integers, fractions, decimals, or even complex numbers. When you add two numbers, you are essentially performing a calculation that results in a value that represents the total of the quantities being added.

For example:

Example.1)

2 + 3 = 5

In this case, the addends are 2 and 3, and their sum is 5. Addition can also be performed with more than two numbers:

Example.2) 4 + 6 + 2 = 12

In this example, the addends are 4, 6, and 2, and their sum is 12.

The concept of addition is widely used in various fields, including mathematics, science, finance, and everyday life. It provides a fundamental way of combining quantities and determining their total value.

The addition of numbers is a mathematical operation that involves combining two or more numbers to obtain a total or sum. It is one of the four basic arithmetic operations, along with subtraction, multiplication, and division. Addition is typically denoted by the symbol "+".

To perform addition, you take two or more numbers and add them together. The numbers being added are called addends, and the result is called the sum. The order in which the addends are added does not affect the final sum, due to the commutative property of addition.

For example, if you have the numbers 3 and 5, adding them together would give you a sum of 8 (3 + 5 = 8). Similarly, if you have three numbers, say 2, 4, and 6, adding them would result in a sum of 12 (2 + 4 + 6 = 12).

Addition can be applied to various types of numbers, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and even negative numbers. It is a fundamental operation used in everyday calculations and forms the basis for more advanced mathematical concepts.

Here we will introduce a very fundamental concept of addition via describing a conditional narrative problem. Suppose there is a condition, where two or three or any quantity of objects are to be added simultaneously, then in that process we have to count all given images and then we can put the total images.

There are some examples are given below for your better understanding –

From the above picture image we can observe that -

There are 8 spoons in the box, and

There are 4 spoons out of the box

So, there are total 8 + 4 = 12 spoons.

From the above picture image we can observe that -

Tom, has 5 bananas with him,

Richard, has 7 bananas with him, and

Powel, has 8 bananas with him.

So, together they have 5 + 7 + 8 = 20 bananas.

From the above picture image we can observe that -

There are 6 glass of water, and

8 glass of water has been added later on,

So, the total number of glass of water is 6 + 8 = 14 glass of water.

From the above picture image we can observe that -

Suppose, there are 4 oranges in a bucket

Another 8 oranges are placed to that same bucket,

So, the total number of oranges in the bucket is 4 + 8 = 12  oranges.

From the above picture image, we can observe that -

Alter has  5 chocolates,

His father has bought for him 8 chocolates, and

His mother has bought for him 6 chocolates for him

So, total number of chocolates Alter has got 5 + 8 + 6 = 19 chocolates.
